These are based on lorenzo's scale flowers which are licensed under creative commons and can be made and sold legally with credit given to lorenzo for the original design.
You can make these with all petals overlapping which I prefer but the last petal can be tricky so they can also be made without all petals overlapping.
Used here are small scales and BA rings, 1.6mm 10mm ID (AR 6.25) for the large rings & 6.7mm (AR 4.18) for the smaller rings. You can very the ring sizes slightly depending on how stiff you want your flower.
Start with 1 closed large ring, 1 closed small ring, 5 open large rings and 5 small scales.
Put a large ring through a closed small ring, a scale and a closed large ring. Make sure the cupped side of the scale is pointing toward the small ring and the domed side should point toward the large ring.
Repeat this. Put a large ring through the closed small ring in front, another small scale (but not the first one you used) and the closed large ring at the back.
Repeat the last step.
Repeat twice more.
The last scale can be tricky if you want them to all overlap but it's worth it.
You can also make 6 petal overlapping flowers if you just use all large rings.
Start with 6 open and 2 closed.
Just follow the instructions above.
